I have had a continuing problem where i get 8-9 hours of sleep, but I am worthless in the morning until i get 2-3 cups of coffee. I used to have a problem getting to sleep (would toss and turn for hours), but I have changed my mattress and pillows, kept the apartment cooler, and took out all the lights in my room and now i can get to sleep in under an hour. I wake up easily and i can just tell im not getting a good night's sleep most of the time. Pretty much every morning I get at least one person asking if I was out parting last night, because I have massive bags under my eyes, but I got 8.5 hours of sleep.

  1. You could actually be getting too much sleep.  Plus, you're probably too dependent on caffeine (so am I).  Try getting 6 to 7 hours of sleep one night just as an experiment and see how you feel.

  2. Try getting 7-8 hours of sleep and see if you actually feel better.  Perhaps you are oversleeping, which can make you tired as well.

I sometimes have trouble falling asleep and I take these pills called Tension RX: Nighttime.  They also keep me knocked out for the entire time.

  3. if your not allergic buy some lavender essential or sandlewood essential oil........but try lavender first. Put three drops on your pillow then go to sleep but before you enter sleep try to breath in the fragrance......dont think of anything just smell the lavender.

It worked for me for some time. I also tried drinking a cup of coffee and going right to bed that also worked.

Now I switched to beer during the summer. I will drink one beer then go to sleep.
