How do I get a bird to stop biting?

My friend has a bird and I'm going to try to helpp it to stop biting. Tips and tricks would help out greatly. Thanks. :)

  2. In order to stop the biting, you must first figure out what is causing the bird to bite. Is he biting only in the cage? When you ask him to step up? When you are trying to put him back in the cage? Does he bite only her? Only strangers? Everyone that tries to hold him?

    Parrots bite for a number of reasons, and first you must identify why exactly he bites. Sally Blanchard is a parrot behavioralist and has written numerous books on pet parrots. "The Beak Book" is an awesome book that talks only about bird aggression (biting) and how to figure out why your bird bites and how to prevent it once you realize why it is happening. I have six pet parrots and have raised them all on her methods and none of my birds have any serious problems.
