I am interested in getting a new car which doesn't have the title because someone left it in my friends driveway for the past 2 years and never came back for it. Is there a way to do this or is it just impossible?

  1. Property owners can submit a lien on the vehicle through DMV.  Yet each state is different, check with your DMV.  They can run a print out of the last registered owner.  This will also let you know if the vehicle has a salvaged title or not.

  2. You can't.  Your friend might be able to since it is abandoned on his or her property.  Various states have various rules, but generally you have to find out the owner, write them a letter and send it certified to come get the car of you will start storage charges, and then get title in lieu of storage charges.

Call the closest tow company and ask what the rules are, they will know.

  3. THE PERSON WHO'S PROPERTY ITS ON NEEDS TO APPLY FOR A TITLE  AT THERE LOCAL STATE DMV

    DEPT OF MOTOR VEHICLES.

LOTS OF REPAIR SHOPS HAVE TO DO THIS WHEN FOLK'S HAVE REPAIRS DONE THEN CAN'T PAY FOR THEM AND JUST LEAVE THE CAR.

THIS WAY THEY GET THERE MONEY BACK BY SELLING THE CAR OR TRUCK

    GOOD LUCK

  4. You need to go to get a "bonded title".  Depends on your state, but look at the following link:

  5. Your state should have a Department of Motor Vehicles website.  Start researching there or call a local office.  The answer varies depending on your state.

  6. you can either file for a bonded title at the vehicle registration office or have your freind file a mechanics lein on the vehicle for being left on thier property and get you title that way.

  7. Call the police -- this is not a free car  --- guarentee that someone is looking for that car... It could be stolen...

  8. You will need the title.  You cannot just take someone Else's car.  There may be a procedure for getting the car considered abandoned but it may well be more trouble doing that than the car is worth
