I have many children's books written and I am looking for a publisher. Where do I start?

  1. you don't need a publisher - you need an agent.  concentrate on that.  buy the latest copy of "writer's market" & start sending letters to agents.

  3. Realistically, a first time author is highly unlikely to find a good agent to represent him or her. Agents are looking for authors with a track record.

    Your best bet -- learn the right way to submit a manuscript to a publisher. And, perhaps even more importantly, learn how to polish a mansucript so a publisher will consider it.
