I was born in the US and my parents are not from any other country and do not hold a dual citizenship or anything special.

Sooo how do I get one....do I just have to spend a long time in that country or what?

  1. Were your grandparents from some other country? You could possibly get it by them.

But if you're all American you would need to marry another nationality and even then you need a whole bunch of paper work to apply.

And in some cases you actually give up American citizenship.

You would need their birth certificates most likely or marriage licenses depending on which country you are seeking citizenship from, and you can get that info at the embassy which caters to that country.

  2. You are NOT entitled to get one without moving to another country and applying for citizenship there.

  3. Hello,

If you want to get a citizenship of a decent country without waiting for 3-5 years, there are countries providing for "fast-track" way of getting a dual citizenship, however only three of them provide for instant citizenship by investment officially: Commonwealth of Dominica, St.Kitts and Nevis, Austria.

We can help you to get a citizenship in Dominica and St.Kitts & Nevis. Please come for our free consultation at http://www.isla-offshore.com/ and read our articles related to the subject.
