I want my growlithe to turn into arcanine but I don't know where to get a firestone. again, HELP!

you have 2 go 2 bill's grandfather in cerulean city show him a vulpix 2 get a firestone from him

Well, you get it by showing growlithe or vulpix to bill's grandfather above and to the right of cerulean city.

But first you have to show him lickitung, oddish, and then staryu. After you show him growlithe, you can show him a pichu to get a thunder stone.
