How do I get a friend code on Animal Crossing?

I don't know how to get a friend code on animal crossing...please tell me

Ask people in forums what their friend codes are or even ask here and then when they are online you can visit their town or they can visit yours.

You have to go to your town gate and talk to Copper (the animal to the right of the door). When he asks you what you want just select "Friend code!" and he'll give you your friend code. Later if you want to check what your code was you just have to go into your pocket and select the heart which is your Friend Roster and then you select the little key.
