  1. contact your local public school for their procedures and protocol...he may need to bring proof of the home-schooling and perhaps be tested for grade evaluation so that he can be re-inserted at the proper grade level based on both age and achievement.

  2. just go talk to the principal of your local school. it is easy.

  3. #1 enroll him

#2 by him some supplies and Clothes

    #3 Take him to school

#4 Leave and come back at the end

P.S. DOes his mom know you are Putting him in public?

  4. Contact your local public school.  Talk to the principal.  Ask for a tour of the school.  If the administration tries to make an issue of it, ask a simple question:  "How many non-English speaking students are enrolled?"

I'm in favor of school for everyone, but if a student can start the 11th grade and not speak English, then any child should be able to enter at their age grouped grade level.

  5. the mom should be reporting to the board of education in her town, which should be testing him and authorizing his passing from grade to grade. tell her that when she sends him to you she needs to send a transcript or document from her board of ed stating home schooling and what grade the child is in. then go to the dept of ed in your area an take the paper work with you. they will place him in a school

  6. Ignore Mimi.  She has no clue as to what she is saying.  You do not have to answer to the local school board in most places.     oy

If you have to send him back into the system go talk to the principal of the school.  They will place him.   It does depend on how old he is.  If he's in the younger grades they would probably just place him without worrying about it.

If he's in the older grades they may do placement tests to see where he would fit.

Does he know he will be going back to school?  How does he feel about it?     Does his mother know?

  7. Well it's kind of up to the school

They can put him into a physical age grade level or test them and put them into the grade level they are residing at.

Most homeschoolers who do it right are 2-3 grades ahead of public schoolers.

Most 14 year olds are ready for high school

Most 16 year olds are ready for college

The average public schooler in the US is 4 grades behind what they should be at.

Many high school graduates cannot do fractions

Many high school gradautes don't know a thing about geography and think that Denmak is a city.

10% of the public schoolers excell

    50% of the homeschoolers excell

50% of the public schoolers fail

    20% of the homeschoolers fail

You have to find out where the kid stands.

  8. Just sign him up and put him on the bus. He'll get used to it.

  9. You just need to call up the school that he will be attending and ask what their procedure for re enrolling a child that has been homeschooled. They can let you know. It is different for every school and state. Shouldn't be that difficult.
