How do I get a job quickly?

Okay so I'm moving to Champaign, Illinois soon and I reaaaly need a job there. I have to find an apartment and all that **** too but I need a job first. Does anyone have any good tips on how to get a job quickly. I keep filling out apps but I don't have a lot of time.

You have to want to look for a job.  Go out with the mindset that you will find a job.  Be positive about it.  In this economy (and this day and age), it's very, very competitive.  Don't just apply for five jobs.  Apply for at least 100.  I know that sounds like a lot, but not every application you send out will they want to bring you in for an interview.  Also, remember to follow up with the company.  You want them to keep you fresh in their mind.  Don't let too much time pass before you send the follow up.  If you wait too long, they could already start to bring people in for interviews and start to make decisions.  Give it three days max, and then follow up.

You have to want it.

Maybe you can go to a temp agency.  Did you try looking at the market before moving?  Good luck.

Good luck with that.  It, like all college towns, has waaaaay more applicants than there are jobs.  It will take a full-time effort on your part to find anything.  Don't expect fast.

Do you have access to newspapers from that area? Look for places that are always looking to hire and apply there. Of course, that may mean you don't get a really great job to start with.

In my experience, nursing homes are always looking for employees, if you're willing to do that sort of work.
