  1. WHAT I WOULD SUGGEST IS THAT YOU NOTIFY THE COUNTY RECORDER OR THE CITY RECORDER FOR A LIST OF TRAIN WRECKS IN THAT STATE AND YEAR.


  2. History detectives check local arcives. Micro film records of news papers from the period. And cemetarys. Many small Iowa towns did not have newspapers in 1926 try county seats. Do you know the train company?

  4. Check with the local Library and also the local department of transportation.  Both of these should have puplic records that will give you the answer you seek.

  5. If you can determine the railroads involved, a search of old company archives may develop information, and in much greater detail than media accounts.

    UP still has extensive routes in Iowa and the absorption of any other railroads will be accounted for.  I think you may be able to contact the PR department and obtain information there.

    Not famous for public relations, access to documents is guaranteed through the freedom of information legislation.
