Question:

How do I get a little more toned before school starts?

I have about 1 week.

I don't want a visual difference, but I just want to feel better and have more strength.

  1. Use dumbbells to work out the biceps (or push-ups) and since you are going for tone and not muscle mass, you will want to do probably do low weight but many repetitions. Lower the dumbbell behind your back and bring it up many times (behind your head), but slowly, and it will work out your triceps (muscle located below your shoulder/other side of your bicep).

    Or you can do "supermans" where you get on your stomach and fully extend your arms and legs, but keep them off the ground. You work out your triceps as well some part of your leg I believe. You will definitely feel the burn if you do that one.

    Do crunches or use an ab machine to make your stomach seem flatter.  Work out different muscle groups on different days otherwise the muscle fibers will have a much harder time re-building (and therefore getting stronger).
