Question:

How do I get a melted candy sucker out of my carpet?

My cousin spent the night sometime ago and snuck a sucker to bed with her. I recently found the sucker stick laying on top of a sticky blob in between the mattress and the wall.

It's been there at least 6 mos. I live in an apt and don't want to have to replace the carpet when I leave because of a sucker.

Anyone know what can I do to get it up?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

  1. ouch its a hard one mix the following. baking soda vinegar (be careful not to foam over) dish soap and salt. mix very thoroughly and then apply on the stain let sit and then wash a scrub of with warm water and a stiff brush.

  2. Use the Big Mac secret sauce -- works miracles.

  3. Use water to dissolve the sugar and blot it up with a towel.  Use just enough water to wet the sucker really well but not so much the carpet soaks through.

You can also rent a carpet shampooer from most hardware and grocery stores.  They cost about $30 a day, but that's cheaper than what the landlord will charge to clean it when you move out.

  4. scrub it with some very hot soapy water . Then get the csrpet cleaned .

  5. Get on duh floor and l**k it up honey.

    get

  6. first just pick it off as much as you can. then go out and buy "goo-off" it comes in a can. do not get this confused with "goo-gone" (this one is not nearly as strong). it does have a strong fume but just spray it on top of the affected area and start scraping off with a sponge or rag.

  7. Don't rub the stain. It might set in the carpet and become permanent.

Go to this link it tells you how to remove stain

  8. Get the goo gone at walmart

  9. This should do the trick:

  10. I would sugest freezing it with an icecube then just cracking it off, and if that doesnt work just sit down and pick it out.

  11. freeze it. lay ice cubes on it and freeze the area, the peel the sucker off

  12. Old wifeys tale.

    Freeze it.

Get some ice in a plastic bag and freeze/cool the sticky item so it no longer can stick then scrape it out with a spatula.

  13. Try using a laundry stain remover such as Shout or Spray and Wash.

  14. CALL STANLEY STEAMER!!

  15. get a spray bottle, fill it up with water, and spray around the edges of the sucker and try to spray uderneath it a bit. then get a wet rag and try to lift it up a bit after each spray. hope that works. What I did though was just pull it off but only after a day.

  16. I'd try some to pour some boiling water on it and then sop up the the water and melted sucker with some paper towels.
