  1. I would consult a REPUTABLE patent attorney. There are a lot of frauds out there just taking money.

  2. Yes it is possible. That's why software patents are so useless. You can patent something that could be done very similarly and cause a competitor to have to go through all sorts of loop holes just because they don't want to infringe on someone's patent.

  3. Contact the Patent Office, Ideas are patented all the time. This way when You do find a way to get your project off the ground No one can steal it. You must find someone with the knowledge of what the Idea pertains to. The forms require complex and stringent guidelines.

    Good Luck my friend.

  4. Oh boy...here we go. Gettin' all serious huh? Email me and we can talk about it. You're not alone.

Ya got cash $$$$$$$$, 'cause that's what ya need man.

  5. I think so. You'll just need to get backers to put the idea into action. LOL

  6. Find a partner with those skills and knowledge and write up a binding contract between the 2 of you for development of your idea.  Good luck sometimes good ideas are a dime a dozen.

  7. Hey, I thought you said I could take credit for the "add a File>Fack it" command to the menu?  D@mn double-crosser.

Fine.  But I'm taking the "add an 'FU' key to the computer keyboard" idea.

  8. No, you cannot patent (or copyright) an "idea", but rather an invention that uses an idea, that has not been invented before and which would not have been "obvious" to those skilled in the art (e.g., as an improvement to or combination of existing inventions).

Many patented inventions use software as part of the mechanism to carry a new idea into a useful device or process.

Call a patent attorney and get a half-hour of free advice on what you need to do next (other than keeping it secret for now).

  9. No, a patent has to provide enough information for someone "skilled in the art" to actually make the invention.

  10. It's more possible to get an idea stolen.
