How do I get a personal avatar/picture/icon on windows messenger?

I have version 4.7 and I'm not sure how to see my buddy's picture or how i can get one. help pleaz!

  1. You cant have a pic. or see the pic. of your buddies on MSN 4.7, bcz its very old. I advice you to download the Windows Live Messenger (8.5) from: http://get.live.com/
