How do I get a pic to look like this guy's? *Photoshop* *Links*?

Question

I think it's a little more than just making a picture black and white then making it lighter. Can someone give me simple, step-by-step instructions on how to do this? The guy says he uses Cs4, but most likely he's not telling the truth..( then again, I don't know) Note: I use CS3

use contrast for the black and white effect...and click on black and white and then paint out the eye so it will be blue..

i use picnik.com so it might be different..but that is how i do it.

Change the lightness and contrast.  Increase the contrast nearly all the way and change the lightness to your pleasing.  The way the picture is taken is important too.  If you want something like his, make sure you you're wearing dark pants, have pale skin, and have black (or dark hair).  If you don't have pale skin or black hair, you can always use the dodge and burn tool in photoshop.

i'd really like to know how he got CS4, it's not released yet. it was leaked a couple weeks ago, there's only pirated versions out, so that means there's about a 99% chance this dude has a virus on his machine. that cracks me up.

yeah, the best way to do this is play with your channel mixer in CS3, make your picture black and white, get your brush tool, swap the black and white, and brush back in what colors you want to keep.
