How do I get a racing career?

I'm 17 and I have no experience in things like go karts. Are there any exceptions or do I have to have go karted since I was like 4 because It seems like if you don't start early it's impossible.

I don't like Nascar racing so I'm not looking to get into that.

I like touring cars, and eventually I want to race prototypes.

I know it takes time but since I'm already 17 do I have any chance. I saw on the Grand Am Rolex Sports Car series racing website this guy named Graham Rahal he is 19 and he has been racing since he was 8. Does this meen I have no shot at starting to race?

  1. Just start racing somewhere and find someone who wants to train you and you'll become a real racer. But here in my city that trainer is searching for talented drivers in local go-kart tracks.
