I've got a slow leak in my front right tire. I need to go on a trip in 2 or 3 days; it's about 500 miles there and back. Where do I go and what do I ask for, and how much $$$ will it cost?

  1. Go to a tire shop in your area (I like Walker Tire personally) and ask them to patch it for you.  It'll cost between $8-16 and take less than 20 minutes.  There is a slight possibility that you'll need a new tire (like if the side wall is damaged) but you'll likely be able to patch it.

  2. Take it in to any good tire shop, they should be able to find and fix the leak for you and should not charge more than $10 in most cases.

Generally they will take it off the vehicle, dunk it in the tank until they see bubbles from the leak, mark it, dismount it, remove the object (nail, s***w, piece of wire, whatever) patch it and put it back on.

  3. if you check the tire may have a nail or s***w in it easy plug fix get a freind or tire shop to plug it wal mart or auto parts sells plug kits cheap

  4. go to a tire shop and tell them you want the tire checked out for a leak.

  5. Go to any shop, and just say your tire is going flat. Wal Mart charges $10. If there is no sidewall damage on the outside or inside of the tire, and the hole is in the tread, it should be fixable.

  6. Very good answers above. It's likely just glass, a nail, or other sharp object. Usually a cheap and quick fix. My advice is, wherever you go, GET THERE EARLY, like right when they open. They USUALLY aren't as busy (especially on a weekday), and you can get in and out quickly. If you're a girl don't let them try and scam you, and sell you extra things. Just say "I think I ran over a nail." I just need my tire patched. If they claim any additional problems (someone said sidewall damage, etc. which is rare with a slow leak) MAKE THEM SHOW YOU. But, most places are honest, and just want to get you in and out. Good luck!

  7. depends on where it is.  you can take to a tire shop.  they can patch, plug and sometimes put sometime in the air valve to stop slow leaks.

i had my tire plugged at the gas station where i get gas and they charged me $7.
