Question:

How do I get a stain from corn husk out of cotton?

I was husking corn and the silk (which is always brownish and kinda mushy) rubbed against my shirt leaving a brown stain. I have tried to get it out and can't. What would be the best thing to use to get out a stain of that nature? I tried stain stick and spray and wash.

  1. You could try soaking overnight in cold water with plenty of salt in it.

    Good Luck.

    Regards.

  2. I grew up and live in Iowa and shuck dozens of ears of sweet corn each year and have never had nor heard of a stain like that. Are you sure it's from the corn?

Anyway, try some clorox bleach stick to get out the stain. It's the best stain remover I've ever used on white or light colored clothes. If your clothes are colored, try scrubbing (with a toothbrush) a bit of detergent directly on the stain. That should take it out.
