How do I get a theme on my psp?

I have a psp 1000 series and i cant get the theme i downloaded to work.. Will it not work just beacause i have the 1000 series or what? help?

go to playstation.com and click on the psp section there are  guides and tutorials as to how to do everything

1. themes are firmware specific. a theme for 3.70 will not work with 4.01

#2. if you downloaded a .ptf theme, this will work on both custom firmware and official firmware

#3. if you downloaded a .rco theme, this will only work on custom firmware.

series does not matter, firmware matters.
