How do I get a title in NC for a boat trailer with only a bill of sale?

Call it a homemade trailer and just give length , width and # of axles to Tag office.

They will give you a metal plaque to attach to your trailer and a tag

Maybe your brother made it

Cant you file for a "lost title?" Thats all you really need is the bill of sale...call vehicle licensing and ask if that can be processed--I am sure they will need to visually inspect the trailer

The last owner has to apply for a copy of the title.
