  1. I don't know what you mean by unwanted but if there are strays in your area that you are trying to get your parents to let you take in.  I would say food is the number one way to do it!

Maybe you can have them go with you to the local animal shelter, and once they see all of the cats and dogs in need of a home hopefully they'll decide to open up their home to one!!

  2. one word: food.

    *Mary~

  3. I really think that's a bad idea,

If you did lure the pet with food other animals like Squirrels or raccoons could come after the food. If your looking for a pet to adopt try your local shelter.

  4. You are kidding yourself. If any stray shows up in your yard LEGALLY you must turn it in to animal control for them to hold and attempt to find the owner. After the holding period the dog will go up for adoption.

If your parents have said no to a dog suck it up and grow up. Trying to 'sucker' your parents into pet ownership is neither responsible nor is it mature.

  5. you cant just get it to happen.

You could put food out.. but that may attract other unwanted animals like raccoons or skunks.. its also illegal to put food outside in some cities.  That "unwanted" pet could just as easily be someone's lost pet and not one you can keep.

  6. Put out a bowl of dog food and stay out of your yard.  Be prepared for disappointment, most likely no pets will show up at all.  But you may get a cat, and possibly a dog!  Be sure that if one comes, you know that they don't belong to someone.  LOL, don't steal your neighbor's pet!  Good luck, and be careful...some stray animals can be diseased or wild.  Have fun!  :)

  7. food, it works every time

  8. put a bowl of food out by the back door.  problem is that you may get unwanted rodents but sooner or later a cat or dog will show up as well.
