How do I get a video on my camcorder onto my computer.?

I have a mac and pc, so either would work, but i have a video on a camcorder that i want to put on my computer, but i dont know how! thank you!!

If your camcorder has a USB plug, you can trnasfer if through that port. You will probably also need some software and drivers for you camcorder but you can easily get that from the maker of your devices website.

I have a cord that hooks to the camera to the computer and I import them. I also have a memory card and just put it into the slot.

What kind of camera is it? If it's digital it likely has a USB cord, that would be your best bet.

Seems like there's software on a hard disc from the company that made your digital cam-corder that you can upload onto your PC, and use that to upload your video.

When I bought my digital camera, (a Samsung), it came with a program called Digimax Master that allows photos to be taken copied from the camera and into my files, and from there I can browse and upload them to the Internet.  

I don't know if Digimax can be used to upload videos or not, and I don't know if a digital cam-corder comes with a program such as that...
