  1. I'm assuming your video file from your digital camera is quite large.  (let's say 10MB).

A quick way to compress the video for email purposes is to use Windows Movie Maker.

    Here's how to do it:

    1)  Open Windows Movie Maker

    2)  On the left hand navigation you should see 1. Capture Video...click on Import Video.  Find the video you want to compress.

    3)  Your video should appear just to the right of the Capture Video navigation in the "Collection".

    4)  Drag the video to the timeline at the bottom of Windows Movie Maker.

    5)  Once the video is in the timeline you should be see the text in the left hand navigation under 3. Finish Movie become clickable.  Click on "Send in e-mail".

    6)   A wizard will pop up asking you how small you want to compress the file.  Keep in mind 10MB is usually the max to send in an email, with many providers blocking files that large, if I was use I would try to keep it under 3MB.

This should help you achieve what you're looking to do.

Note:  If your video is 5-10 minutes long, it may become difficult to compress the whole video.  In this case, you may want to look at better video editing software, such as Sony Vegas Movie Studio, which is inexpensive and very powerful.

  2. You should wait for a longer amount of time.

Videos are large files, and it may take a very long amount of time for it to send ESPECIALLY if you have slow internet. I used to have dial-up, and it would take hours for a video that is a couple of minutes long to send.

So yeah, I would recommend either waiting longer or using a faster internet. Even with faster internet you will have to wait though.

Just do something else in the mean time and check regularly to see if the attachment has sent.
