How do I get a wild bird out of my basement?

my mom opened the window in our basement and she didn't realize there was not a screen. how do i get the bird out? i don't want it to get hurt or die in our basement :( HELP!

probably just try to keep the window open & check every now & then to see if it had left or if you have basement doors try to open them that can work as well

All you can really do is leave the window open and hope it gets out unless you're willing to try and catch it in a net...

CALL ANIMAL CONTROL. THEY SHOULD TAKE THE BIRD OUT FOR YOU. THERE FOR YOU DONT RISK STRESSING THE BIRD MAKING HIM GO INTO SHOCK. AND YOU DONT RISK GETTING DISEASE FROM TEH BIRD.

You shut the lights off and throw a light blanket over the bird and grab it. Take it outside and release the bird.

I would try to catch it with a towel or some other clothe like item.  Then you can let it go out side.  It is hard to catch with your bare hands.  It might be easier to throw the towel over it and catch it that way.  Also you can try to get a few people together and make it go towards the open window to fly out.

if they are fat birds, put up a sign next door saying free dougnut.
