How do I get adoption forms for my son in kitsap county?

I want to adopt my wifes son, from her first marriage, I don't want to pay a ton of lawyer fees. I am haveing a hard time locating the proper documents.

  1. I realize that you do not want to pay an attorney, but you will probably want to speak to one to make sure that all of the paperwork is being filed properly.  I am sure that you will still need to have the parental rights of the bio-father terminated, and that would be a legal proceeding.  I just don't want to see you do something that might cause the adoption to fall through.  I agree with the first response though - the Probate office should be able to help you.

  2. We got ours from our county's probate court.  That's where we also finalized the adoption.

    I assume you mean Kitsap County, Washington (it was the only one I could find right off the bat).
