How do I get ahold of someone to check out police impound cars?

I'm desperate for a car. I have had such a hard time the past 9 months with cars. I've heard I could get a decent impound car for cheap. would anyone know how?? Also What do you all think about craigs list for finding a car?? Good site or no?? Reliable?

Lastly, how long do you have to have a job to get a loan? I am 18, and hae had my job for 8 months now. Was thinking about taking out a loan to get a car...

What do all you recommend? I'm desperate. I need a car for school...

You need someone with an auctioneer's license.  A lot of mechanics have them.  Craigslist is fine as long as you completely check the car out first. I actually bought my car off craigslist, and now, 7 months later it's falling apart!  However, it's just b/c the car is older.  I would bring a friend who knows about cars (I brought my brother who is a mechanic), to check it out.  And make sure you test drive it!  Also, make sure you check for heat and air conditioning.  I purchased my car in November, so I checked the heat.  But now that it's really hot out, I realized my ac doesn't work!  Just make sure you check out everything!  Good luck, I hope everything works out for you.
