The false charges were dismissed but I heard it still needs to be expunged due to it being an arrest. I am wandering what is the process. Thanks for anyone that can help me out. It has been more than six months since dismissal.

  1. Hello Matt. Two ways you can do this. Go to the Clerk of Courts for that jurisdiction and ask if they have papers to expunge this pro se ( meaning by yourself without a lawyer).

If you feel too challenged to fight your way through the legal process ( or if they do not allow pro se ), retain an attorney within the jurisdiction of the arrest and have him draw up your petition and submit to the court in your behalf.

If you use an attorney, during the initial consultation, he will give you what he feels his time and efforts are worth in advance so you will know exactly what this will cost.

Best of luck and I hope this is useful to you
