How do I get an edible image on to chocolate?

I have seen images and professionally written signs on chocolate peices such as cakes, it's quite amazing.But how to do it?

it is done with fine tipped air brush and food paints.  it is also done with stencils, and these sheets of transfer paper with the images already on the sheets.  

it is hard to do, though.  have you seen Ace of Cakes on Food Network?  They make some truly amazing stuff on that show, and to do anything close to that takes most of us years to perfect.

you probably would want to start with some kind of artistic ability and go from there.
