How do I get around Copyrighting?

The problem is I already have a rough draft of like an Ebook that I want to sell online for my own profit, but some of the stuff that I've written is in another Ebook or just book. I don't want to Copyright it or make it seem like I am just because we have the same material.

1.) What can I do?

2.) Can I get in trouble?

3.)What SHOULD I do?

  1. You don't get around to stealing other people's work.

    What can you do?

Use your head and learn how to write original materials and not simply using other people's work for your own profit. You did not create them. You simply lifted them, I suppose word for word, and then compiled them to your ebook.

    Can I get in trouble?

Yes. a DMCA copyright infringement complaint -- that will force your web host to remove your site and Google and other search engines to delete your site from their databases.

If you sell the ebook on eBay, the copyright owner can complain to ebay via their VERO program and eBay will remove your listing, even suspend you if you continue to sell the ebook

At the worst, a cease and desist order from the lawyers. Then a lawsuit.

    What SHOULD you do?

Stop using other people's work and learn how to write your own original ebook.

  2. why don't you want to copyright it and protect yourself? - all you have to do is include the line Copyright 2008 - Your Name on the cover or any or all pages - doesn't cost anything - if you are using exact sections of someone else's work that IS copyrighted - then you can get in trouble, whether you copyright your book or not if that author sees your book and makes a fuss
