Question:

How do I get auto payments to show on credit report after bankruptcy?

I completed my bankruptcy in May 2007 and "thought" I had reaffirmend my vehicle. I talked to the bank and they said they never got the paper work but I have been making payments this entire time and am current.

They said it is too late to reaffirm the debt now but to continue making payments and they can mail me statements but they can not report it to the credit bureaus. Therefore, none of the payments I have been making have shown up on my credit report!

I am looking to try and purchase a home next year. Will the paper statements be enough to show proof of payments to a mortgage lender or is there something I can do to have it show up on my credit report.

Thank you for any help.

  1. Shea --there is no subprime market any longer. FHA now requires 3 years from discharge with good re-established credit. Call your old BK atty and see if the affermation agreement was executed if not then only pay  them by check as it is written proof of timely payments
