  1. I agree with the first poster!  If the group (list) no longer has a group owner and the group is not moderated (allows members without a request), the spammers will find the group and continue to send spam!

If you are not the group owner or moderator (with the appropriate privileges) you will not be able to make changes to the group.

Do yourselves a favor!  Create a new group!  Use all the same information as the old group but insure the group is MODERATED!

For more on how to create a group, go to:

    - Finding, Joining & Managing Your Groups Memberships

Send an email to all the members of the old group that you are starting the new group.  Keep sending the invite emial (to the old group) until you get most of the members to the new group.

Explain to your new members how to join your group:

Those who are interested will join the new group, those who are not may be those that you don't wan't in the group!

  2. this link may help

I can't remember my Yahoo! ID (user name). Help!

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/or...

if this link doesn't help the person remember, or that the account was deleted, you're out of luck. only a group owner can appoint a new owner or make changes to group settings- Yahoo will not appoint anyone. there are 1000's and 1000's of groups in this same spot.

your choice will be then is to create a new group and invite the members to it

  3. sorry I understand this contradiction, I want my group back and yahoo won't give it to me I am not sure why or what to do about that, same email address since 1999 and I know my password
