Question:

How do I get back on a sleep schedule before school starts?

So this summer i have been going to sleep around 2 am and waking up at noon. So School Starts September 2nd and i want to know how to get ready. I have to wake up early when school starts how do i get back on a sleep schedule. BTW i am going to 10th grade.

  1. haha i'm in the exact same place as you! Its good that you thought about this now! unlike me who doesn't realize the clock is ticking...anyway you should sleep at your regular time which is apparently 2 and set your alarm for about the regular time your school starts, you will be tired at first but then get used to it.


  2. Well, set your alarm clock when you need to get up, and go to sleep when you're tired. DO NOT KEEP SLEEPING! Pretty soon, your body will get used to this, and most likely your body will adapt to waking up at that time.

  3. I would recommend starting at least a week before school or sooner, start going to be 30 minutes to 1 hour earlier than you usually do. Then begin waking up about 30 minutes to 1 hour earlier each day. So, you could go to bed at 1am and wake up and 11am, and so on. A few days before school starts, try and go to sleep and wake up at your normal timed schedule so you will feel even more prepared.

  5. A week or so before school starts you need to start easing into a more normal schedule...it will be hard at first but by the time school starts you should be used to it. I'm a bit worried about it myself because I've been going to bed at 4 am and sleeping in until 2 lol.

  6. It's all about the class of 2011!!! I suggest you go to sleep at around 2am and set an alarm clock so you can wake up at the right time to get to school on time.  By you going to sleep late and waking up early, you will end up going to bed earlier because you will be to tired from not getting enough sleep.  In about 4 days you should be right back to the normal school schedule.

  7. I just went to bed an hour earlier than I did over the summer and set my alarm clock (which is really loud). It was easy for me.

  8. i had the same problem but i have an answer that will work for you, beause it worked for me.

    one week before school starts.. go to bed at 2 am.. and wake up at 7 am

    ull be suuupper tired but WAKE UP.

    ull be tired the whole day.. so ull go to bed early. around 10:00 or so. then put ur alarm clock on like.. 7 or 7 30 nd ull wake up cause u arent that tired

  9. School starts the 2nd for me too!

    start going to sleep early...from the 25th, and set your alarm clock to the time you desire to wake up.

    I'm starting the 18th though, because it take me some time to transition.
