Question:

How do I get bugs out of my soil?

I had a potted plant and I split it in half and put one half in the ground and the other in the pot. The half in the pot is doing really well but the one in the ground was dying so I dug it up to put in a pot and the roots were covered in what looked like ants and little white bugs. Tons of them! Can I sprinkle ant dust in the dirt and on the plant? Or what can I put in the dirt to kill the bugs? Thanks in advance for your time.

  1. If the 1/2 that you put in the ground hasn't gone into shock yet, replant it quickly. I do green watering which is I recycle my washing machine water which has a mild detergent in it. Try to use a mild dish soap and dilute it with this mild mixture. You may have to do this a few times but that should clear up the bugs without causing to much harm.
