Question:

How do I get dirt out of Burton P1 ratchet?

Hi! My board accidentally fell into the garden at my house and some soil got into the ankle ratchet of my P1. For those who have em, P1 ratchets are soooo silky smooth and silent when you flip em. Now it's making a very faint but noticeable "scrape-crackle" instead of the usual silence. It's driving me nuts!!

  1. try using a can of compressed air. they're normally sold in office supply stores for getting the dirt out from underneath keyboards and other tight places. that should do it. if its really stuck in there..... try to submerge it and then click the ratchet part back and forth to free any thing up. make sure it dries properlly and then i'd probably give it a squirt of wd40 just to make sure everything is running smooth again.

  2. put some oil in it and maybe rinse it out with power hose

  3. water? 10W40? water should work since snow is pretty much water so i dont see why you cant just rinse it out. if its stuck deep use 10w40 then or water with some compressed air
