How do I get eye contacts?

hey everyone im a 17 year old male and im currently wearing glasses and wanted to know what r the steps in getting contacts...like do i go to the eye doctor or do i go to like a place that sells glasses and get my eyes checked there for vision and just get my contacts?

please help!

You just go to your optometrist (eye doctor) for an eye examination as usual but tell him/her you wish to order contacts instead.

They will then check your eyes and briefly show you how to put them on. You trial them for a week or so before you put in an order for them as it takes time to learn how to put them in.

u need to get a contact lens exam which is different than an eyeglass exam. then you get the prescription for contacts. then i guess you can buy them anywhere.

You have to go to an eye doctor for an eye exam (but the places that sell glasses and contacts usually have doctors there as well). The exam has to be for contacts. Then they might give you some trial pairs to try out then you order your contacts. You can also just buy them somewhere like Walmart as long as you have the prescription.
