Question:

How do I get faster while swimming in races?? I get tired sooo fast!!! HELP ME ASAP!?

im on my schools swim team, and i think i do pretty good. I swim breast stroke and freestyle. But i get tired soooo fast. I know everyone says " Practice makes perfect!" But how do i get better quickly and fast? I have a meet this wednesday, and i want to prove to everyone i can be fast in my all my races.

so what im saying is that i need some good swimming tips to help me . Please im in need for some serious tips to train with. If youre a really good swimmer, or you just have some good advice, please click on "Answer" and help a poor girl out. Thanks , you all rock!!

  1. i dont mean to brag but i am a kiss *** swimmer here are my tips for u    dont stop in the middle of a set if u do its like doing two little sets not one big hard set and one biig set is much better then two little sets  the night before eat spagetti talk to ur coach ask wat u need to improve on then dont give up   i lift weights     i do 20  4 times of 15 pounds then i walk 1/4 of a mile run 1/4 of a mile then walk 1/4 of a mile 100 crunches 100 pushups hope this helps lets just say my 100 breatroke time is 1 :10  short coarse


  2. Make sure your strokes are as efficient as they can be or else your using more energy than you need. Look at the best swimmers on your team, you'll probably see that they look smooth in the water even while sprinting in races. Talk to your coach and ask him/her to look at your strokes and see what aspects of your strokes need improving. In freestyle make sure your strokes are long, rotate naturally from the core, and breath on both sides. In breaststroke make sure you glide, after each stroke put your head down and go into streamline for about 1.5 sec., keep your head down, have a fast hand recovery, and make sure that at the end of your kicks you snap your legs together. Those tips may help you, but you should also work on your conditioning because that will obviously help with being tired.

  3. you will have to build up endurance but there are some small things that you can do too!

    freestyle

    -make sure your kick is from your hips, not your knees

    -cup your hands to pull the water

    -breath every 3 strokes

    -do a flip turn if you can, it makes you go soooo much faster

    breast stroke

    -really get that glide to carry you. everyone who wins glides!

    - don't bring your arms out too much, keep the whole storke in front of you

    -don't look around when your swimming, keep your head straight ahead

    -get your power out of your kick, whip your feet aroud when they come together

    -also make sure to touch WITH 2 HANDS!!!!

    don't forget your cap if you have long hair!!

  4. I am on the highschool swimming team. Have you tried stretching before your race?My swim says you can't swim without a haircap. A hair cap can be spandex  it covers all your hair. Long hair can slow you down too. Also drink gatorade! Hope this helps!
