Costa Brava means rough coast, Barcelona is the principal city along the coast, so you're already there, to visit other places along the Cost, simply find the tourist information and get some leaflets, they will usually speak some english too so will be able to help you in getting around...

A very long train ride, then another train, then taxi.  

Perhaps a train, then a bus.  

I did it.  Loved the area - hated the travel into it!!!
