  1. what you do is go to the a/c/e trains or the 1/2/3 trains and take it uptown one stop to Port Authority (NY Bus Terminal). Then you transfer to the 7 train (it only goes one way - East into Queens) That'll let you off by Shea.

Grand Central is on Lex Ave (4th and 3rd) and 42, Penn is on 7th and 34 - you can count the blocks.

  2. taxi

  3. Take the Bronx-bound (uptown) 1, 2, or 3 train from Penn Station one stop up to 42nd Street - Times Square - Port Authority Station.

At 42nd street, transfer to the Queens-bound 7 Train and get off at Shea stadium.

Cabs are for suckers and you'll have trouble getting one there as EVERYONE tries to get one there.  The 1,2,3 line comes faster and requires less walking than the A,C,E.

  4. There are two ways to get from Penn Station to Shea Stadium.

    Option 1: Rail

From Penn Station, take the Long Island Railroad's Port Washington Branch to Shea Stadium. The station is connected to the stadium via a footbridge (follow sign that says "Shea Stadium"). The fare is $6 one way peak $4.25 one way off peak, please buy you ticket at the station before boarding.

    Option 2: Subway

Step1: take the uptown (northbound) #1, 2 or 3 trains (Red Line) from Penn Station to Times Square-42nd Street.

Step 2: at Times Square-42nd Street, transfer downstairs to the Queens-bound #7 train (Purple Line). Take either the #7 local train or the #7 express train from Times Square to Williets Point-Shea Stadium. The station is connected to the stadium via a footbridge. The fare is $4 round trip ($2 each way), transfers between lines are free.

I hope this information is very helpful.

Good luck and enjoy the game.

    2. Transfer to Flushing-bound (7) train.

    Faster option:

    1. Take LIRR from NYC Penn Station to FLushing, then transfer to Manhattan-bound (7) or LaGuardia Airport-bound Q48 to Shea Stadium.
