Quick or long

No time fly into Ho Chi Ming City or Hanoi, in a couple of hours

Slow, take a boat down the Tone le Sap in Monsoon season to Phnom Penh & from there make your way to the border by bus / taxi... I recommend a stop off @ Krachen (fresh water dolphins), Sihanoukville is a cool place to spend a few days, then via Kampot, if going to the Vietnam border from the South.

If you're going North to Hanoi I can't recommend Laos enough.

take the plane.. there is a hefty departure tax.. but your time is much more valuble than money.. take the plane and your in sai gon in an hour.

There are at least two ways

1. Get a flight (via Vietnam Airways) from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh

2. Take a bus from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh then boat ride on the Mekong Delta River
