My parents, my teachers, and myself know that I have a high potencial in school. But I always range in getting 2 A's, 2 B's and 3 C's. My parents are the kind that wont settle for C's and Fouces for me to get A's. Im the only one between my 2 younger sisters that is not in AIG (academically gifed.)

I need a good way how to ace my tests and quizs next year when Im a freshmen, because I want to go to college.

Please note Study habits, and ways to have a passion for education. Thanks.

  1. try getting a study group or a tutor, someone who knows the same stuff and more will really be able to help quiz you and make sure you are getting the information that you need to know on the tests in order to pass.

  2. Your Passion for education will come along when you set out to accomplish your goals of college, career, etc.  So the NUMBER ONE thing you need to do is SET those goals and get excited about them!  Next....you study

You need to find a way to study that works for you.  This is what I tell/ask my students (abbreviated version)

    1.  Find your habitat:  Do you study better with a little background noise?  Try turning the radio on on low, or even study in front of the TV with the volume low (just make sure its not on one of your favorite shows).  If you like it quiet, try the library

    2.  Maybe you study better lying down?  Do you concentrate better in the morning, afternoon, or evening?  Study then.

    3.  Do you study better with a group or alone?  If you study better with others, then organize a study group that you know will be serious about getting work done.

    4.  Try to find something interesting in what you are studying.  It can be really hard when you don't like a subject, but try anyhow.

    5.  Make a game of it!  I know it sounds silly, but making a game, poem, song, or rhyme out of your lessons can really help you to remember it!

    Good luck!!  Hope that helps!

  3. First you have to realize that everyone isn't good at everything all of the time. You have your days, moments, etc.

I made learning fun for me by making it a friendly competition. I would compete against my cousin in high school and every time I beat her I told her that she had to do better than me or she would owe me a soda.

Also, every time I succeeded at something I made a big deal about it. This past semester in a research class every time I got a 5/5 I would smile and tell my friend in the next row. I would say I love to get the most points.

I also know what conditions I work and study best under. For me I am good when procrastinating (not all the time though). What works for me may not work for you. Just try different things.

    STUDY STUDY STUDY!!!

1.) Don't study when you are tired, hungry, etc. You won't retain it because your body is focused on eating, sleeping, etc.

2.) Pace yourself. All nighters are not cool.

3.) If you have a big test, start studying early. DONT WAIT!!

Also, have fun. You only do it once. Make the most not the least and if you make good grades for anyone-- make it yourself!
