Question:

How do I get gunshot residue out of clothing?

I went shopping with a friend when he suggested going to shot guns...so off I went. We had a blast. When I went to wash my hands to get the lead off I noticed a bunch of tiny black specks on my white shirt (I didn't know that I was going to be shooting when I left the house).

I've tried laundering it as usual and the specks are still there.

I've tried bleaching it...and yep..still there.

I've tried using a toothbrush too...nothing.

I really love this shirt and would love to be able to save it!

What can I do here?

  1. You're probably out of luck.  Save the shirt and wear it the next time you go shooting.

  2. throw it out and get a new one, nothings gonna get the particles of the residue out

  3. Nothing there inbedded particles your stuck

  4. Sorry not sure, but what id do is take it to the dry cleaners and ask them how to get the stain off. They usually know how to get any stain out.
