Question:

How do I get healthy long hair?

this must have been asked a lot but mine is a very extreme case!!

my hair has quite oily roots but the rest really really, REALLY dry. It always has been but obviously dying it hasn't helped. But I never use hair dryers/striaghteners/curling tongs.

It is about to the bottom of my neck and it has been that length since i was young - even though all i get is a trim at the salon.

it doesn't really seem to 'move' if that makes sense. If I lifted up a strand it would stay there, it wouldn't go back down.

Any advice? thanks

  1. use conditioner

  2. Try using a different shampoo, or change up your shampoo brands each time you go to buy more. It sounds like a combination of split ends, dry hair, and heavy coating from whatever shampoo you are using. If you use a shampoo to often it can leave a coating on your hair causing it to seem heavy and greasy. I would suggest switching off between Pantene Pro-V and Herbal Essences. As for your split ends I would say go get your hair trimmed, getting your hair trimmed ever few months keeps your ends healthy. As for your dry hair try soaking it in vegetable oil once a week. Wet your hair in the tub or sink and then rub vegetable oil through it like conditioner. Then put your hair up in a towel for about 10-15 minutes, then rinse out and wash your hair. It moisturizes your hair and is very cheap to do! Hope I could help and good luck!

  3. Maybe this is just the kind of hair texture you have my friend has the same problem except hers still grows.Maybe you put too many products and they are blocking your roots and that's why it wont grow.

Your hair is probably just caorse.
