How do I get her to go around them?

Recently I took my girlfriend to visit my family. They are normally really cool but they were acting a little weird. They were like staring at her and whispering so I finally had enough of it and I was like what's your problem. So my Mom was like Um...er...nothing...we just thought you were a L*****n and I'm like OMG Mom she's a girl. And everyone was like OH! So now my gf doesn't say she doesn't like my family but she never wants to go over or she finds an excuse. They're cool with me dating her...they were just a little confused. She dresses in like gym shorts and t-shirts and she was wearing a hat.

shesus..lol. that must have been awkward. i think she feels uncomfortable because they thought she was a guy at first.just let her and your parents get comfortable with each other. they both will come around. have a party or a little family bbq. give them a chance to get to know each other a bit more.the awkwardness will be over soon enough.

If she went there looking like a dude then no wonder they were looking crazy when they know you are a L*****n. They were shocked to think you were dating a guy. Your gf knew she was looking like a guy and was probably trying to look like a guy so what does she expect. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it's usually a duck.
