How do I get information about local businesses in Singapore?

  1. Dear spamandham,

    There are a few resources you may wish to consider in terms of checking up the Businesses in Singapore. These are mainly the business directories and various business listing resources.

    Please note that none of the resources would cover ALL the businesses in Singapore, the best resource would obviously be the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) of Singapore. They take care of all business registration, they do provide a means to check up on registered companies and businesses (but if you need more detailed information, they would charge you a fee for the official records). To check their records you would need to know at least part of the business name.

    The next useful resource would be the Yellow Pages and there is a yellow pages web resource about Singapore businesses (bear in mind their coverage only consists of companies that do register with them).

    Another web-based resource would be the Kompass business directories - but this in general would require a registered account to access (read require payment in general). Again their coverage is not neccessarily comprehensive.
