  1. I just came across a site that sends you a laptop for free! I'm ordering mine right now, it's a Sony VAIO and it looks really hot!

  2. a. broadband wireless card (think a cellphone without the phone part and plugs in to ur laptop) but you usually need a contract w/monthly bill for that

^^^ This is the only way you can possibly connect to the internet anywhere in the United States

    b. use free wireless provided by some hotels/gas stations/restaurants etc. in florida (u need a wireless network card for this)

    or

    c. in the hotel, or wherever you are staying, they may have an ethernet port that is connected to the internet (sometimes this is free, sometimes u may have to pay)

  3. Aside from just jacking internet from random WiFi connections from wherever you are (you said you didn't want to use a wireless card), you can pay for a data plan and a card to get on a cell phone company's network.  In my experience, AT&T is the best.  For $60 a month you can get a free card (just like a normal WiFi network adapter, only it gets a signal even when you're not in a wireless network) and pretty decent service.  In most urban areas, the connection is clear.  You could get a similar deal at most other providers.  But other than just "war walking" (walking around looking for an unprotected wireless network, which you can't do without a network card/adapter anyways), there isn't really any way to get "free" internet.  You're going to pay for it.  If you only want to use the internet in the hotel, just bring along the laptop.  Most hotel chains have "free" (you pay for it in the cost of the room) high speed.  I stay at Marriott hotels and they normally just have a small box with a Ethernet cable on the desk in the room.  The connection is pretty good.  I also see Holiday Inn advertising free high speed internet.  Good Luck!

P.S. To the other answerers...for some reason, he claims he doesn't want to use a wireless network card.  So stop suggesting he go to a hotspot at Starbucks or Burger King.  He'll show up there and not know what to do...because he won't have his network card!

  4. If you have Sprint/Nextel for cell service, there are several phones that work as an internet modem.

  5. you need a wireless connection in you laptop..

  6. Hotspots are popular now days. There has to be a hot spot in florida. Even "Burger King" has hotspots.

  7. EDGE card which uses cell phone towers, or your internal wireless card to access local Wi-Fi hotspots... thats about all ya got chief.

  8. I'm sure you can find a Starbucks in Florida where you can snag a wireless connection.

  9. Unless you get a wireless card from a cell phone company or plug straight  into a phone line or Ethernet cable you wont be able to use internet.
