I'm currently a Film student and want to build up a list of contacts for when I graduate i.e. for support and foundation when selling a script or applying for a Job...

What I want t know is How would one get a Job or even Work experience with film studios.

They always ask for people with 3/10 years minimum experience. how do I get experience if I can't get the Job????

  1. Internship internship internship

It would provide a wonderful chance to learn on the job and build up your resume, make contacts, etc.

The only problem is 9 times out of 10, even though you don't pay them ....they also don't pay you! You're basically just volunteering- which would be fine except if its a 40 hour a week deal, that doesn't give you much time to find another job that will help pay your rent...

Its a Catch-22, you can't get a real job without experience BUT you can't get "real" experience without a job...

    Best of luck to you

  2. Unfortunately to get anywhere in this business you MUST get an agent. Once you have done that then you let them do all the hard work!

    Good Luck
