  1. It already has it, open up a terminal and access the jvm with the command 'java' and the compiler with the command 'javac'.


  2. Mac OS X is the only major consumer operating system that comes complete with a fully configured and ready-to-use Java runtime and development environment.  But the link should have some downloads for you if you're having troubles.

  3. All Macs come with java already on the computer.  

    If you go into Applications folder, then Utilities folder, and then choose Terminal.app, the Terminal application will show up.  Type in "java -version" without the quotations to see which version of java you have.

    However, if you feel like your java might be out of date, just use Apple Software Update (click on the Apple logo at the top left of your screen and choose Software Update...)

    visit the Java website at http://www.java.sun.com.  If you're just looking to upgrade java on your computer so you can VIEW apps properly, you just need the Java SE.  Otherwise, pick carefully what you need in the downloads section on their website.
