How do I get married in Jordan?

Question

I want to marry my fiance in Jordan. I am an American citizen, and he is an Iraqi citizen. We would like to meet in Jordan early next year to get married, but I cannot find any information on the regulations or requirements. I have been searching online for days...and there is no information on the embassy website. Can anyone help me?! I would hate to have to find another location!

i think you have to go your city but if you wanna get wedding in jordan i can give you an advice cause i lived in jordan until i was 14(i am now 16) ............it well be a nice wedding in jordan i think .........i hope you nice wedding and nice wife

I would say go to your local city clerks office, that's where you go for marriage licenses any way. they also do pass ports. That way you'll be able to ask questions about both marriage license and the passport you will need if you don't already have one. With you being a American

i think he will have to have your info. there in Jordan to pay for everything there.  Either way the city clerks office can answer all your questions and provide you with each and all steps you'll both have to take. At the same time have him check out information in Jordan. It won't hurt to have info. from both directions for both of you benefit.

It sounds kind of romanic to travel such a distance for love and marriage. Good luck.
