How do I get medical support from my child's father who is in the army.

We have no contact with my daughters father at all. He chooses not to have a relationship with her. I received information that he may be in the army or the army reserves. I'm not sure where he is stationed. The child support order states that he is to cover her with his medical insurance. If he is in the army, my daughter could be getting free medical benefits instead of me paying for the expensive insurance at my job. How do I contact the army to get my daughter covered by his insurance? I also need to add that he has not paid child support since February which is something else I'm working on.

  1. Medical benefits are provided for the military person and his dependents by marriage.  Without a marriage certificate, you have no basis for a claim.  Court orders by any state are not binding upon the federal government.  Since you've had no contact with the baby's father, and not even sure of his status with the Army, you're just grasping at chances and no one is going to take it seriously.  (Military medical benefits are NOT legally included under the definition of medical "insurance".)

  2. Demos_jo whatever is completely wrong

YOU may not get medical benefits, but if your daughter is his child and there is a court order saying he has to provide medical, then the military will cover her.

My husband has a son and he is covered under his medical military evn though him and the child's mother are not together.

You need to try contacting the father agin and letting him know how much he can get in trouble with both the military and civilian law if he doesn't comply to hte court order.

  3. Get married. Quit having out of wed children, there are enough babies without the baby daddy around. in the world. Be responsible. Get on the Maurie Povich show, he will find the baby daddy.

  4. Taya,

The best way to do this is notify your state's CPS that your daughter's father is in the Army. They will want his Social Security number. Provide them with a copy of the court order.

States are quite used to dealing with this sort of thing. Let them fight the battle for you.
