I hand wash her bottles with hot soapy water and a Munchkin bottle brush but, it always seems like there is milk reside left at the bottom of the bottle next to the little indention. I use Avent bottles if that helps. Is there something that I can do to get them cleaner?

  1. oh...that's a fact .....

this is a very common problem...

even I've heard of this kind many time ......

i preffer u can buy a new one instead as often as u can......

as i would make u fell better .....

coz....even if the reside can be cleaned...

the smell will urge us more than that.....

  2. Try washing them out first in cold water, then washing them in hot water. Use the bottle brush to help dislodge the dried portions.  Cold water often hardens proteins and loosens them.

It also helps to fill the used bottles with water while waiting to be washed, to make sure the milk residue doesn't harden.

  3. I have the same problem. Breastmilk is extremely hard to get the residue off the bottles. I soak my in hot water for about 10 min and then wash and rinse them with dish soap. if that doesn't work I also will boil them.

  4. Soak them in bleach for a little while. This will remove any residue left. Be sure to rinse good.

  5. Leave them to soak in very hot water and dish soap for 20 minutes.

  6. dish washer

it will also disinfect better than hot soapy water anyway because it's much hotter than your skin could deal with

I say also try different bottles Avent is meant for breast milk which is much thinner than formula and wont get stuck at the bottom
